On September 19th, 2019, the Congreso Familia was honored to welcome over 50 Aramark team members as volunteers for Aramark’s annual day of community service, Aramark Building Community Day! Through health education, a work readiness workshop, and beautification projects at our 216 W. Somerset building, Aramark volunteers contributed to projects that will continue to inspire and impact Congreso clients and staff. Congreso Joins Philadelphia in Preparing Communities for the 2020 Census | |
This past month, Congreso joined forces with Philly Counts to support the city’s efforts to ensure a complete count for the 2020 Census! | |  | Census Champions Training As part of the #PhillyCounts city-wide initiative to prepare our communities for the 2020 Census, Congreso hosted an English and Spanish census training on September 17th! 50 Census Champion trainings took place across the city with the goal of creating “Census Champions” to serve as trusted sources of information to share with their networks and neighborhoods. Congreso trained 20 staff members and reached over a 100 people for the Spanish training that was broadcast on Facebook live. Census Hiring Event On September 25th, Congreso welcomed the U.S. Census Bureau for a job fair and over 20 individuals applied on-site! On Sunday, September 8th, the 35th Feria Del Barrio showcased the best of North Philadelphia’s Centro de Oro! This annual celebration of Latino art, culture, and community brought together our partners and supporters, vendors, food trucks, and live performances throughout the day!
