Hispanic Heritage Month concludes with Virtual Fundraiser

On October 15th, Congreso closed Hispanic Heritage Month with a virtual fundraising event, ‘Congreso Celebra’, where we recognized extraordinary staff, honored contributors to Philadelphia’s Latino community, and showcased our impact during the COVID-19 pandemic! 

Adaptability was the theme throughout Congreso Celebra, and also serves as a core value at Congreso– “we rely on the resilience and resourcefulness of our employees, clients, and community to adjust to changing conditions while maintaining our commitment to meaningful outcomes.” This year we’ve seen this value come to life in our day-to-day work like never before.

President & CEO Carolina DiGiorgio honored as an Al Dia Hispanic Heritage Month Honoree

Felicidades to our President & CEO Carolina DiGiorgio for being selected as an Al Dia 2020 Hispanic Heritage Month Honoree! As part of their Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, Al Dia released five publications dedicated to archetypes in Business, Non-Profit, Health, Education, and Public Service, with Carolina being chosen as the non-profit archetype.

Preparing for Flu Season!

Congreso hosted two weekends of walk up flu clinics on October 9th & 10th and October 23rd & 24th to help prepare community members for the upcoming flu season! Overall, more than 125 flu shots were given! No health insurance was required to be seen. 

Our Congreso Familia also had the opportunity to get onsite COVID testing through Vybe, Gateway Health information, and bilingual voting and election resources! We also had a special visit from Representative Danilo Burgos! 

Congreso Celebrates Domestic Violence Awareness Month

We'd like to give a special gracias to Women Against Abuse, Women in Transition, Lutheran Settlement House, and the City of Philadelphia for a succesful #DVAM2020.

Congreso and PNC offer Borrowing Basics Workshop

This month, Congreso partnered with PNC bank to bring Congreso's Human Services Pathway program clients a "Borrowing Basics" workshop! Clients learned all about important credit terms, identified different types of loans, and were able to talk to PNC representatives Tom Walsh and Eileen Wood for a Q&A at the conclusion of the webinar. Gracias for spending time with us and helping our community with vital financial information during these difficult times!
