Lights, Congreso, Action!

On March 27th, students from Congreso's K-12 afterschool programs lit up the stage at Kensington CAPA High School! Performances consisted of group dances, duets, original songs, and even a cooking tutorial. Congratulations to all the students from Julia De Burgos, Roberto Clemente, Pan American Academy, KCAPA and Edison High for a wonderful night! A special gracias to Congreso's Children & Youth Services Team for bringing the arts to North Philadelphia! To view pictures of the night, click below to view our Facebook post.

PCM Resource Seminar - Design Lab

Congreso's trademarked Primary Client Model includes offering bimonthly resource seminars to staff for professional development.

On March 27th, Brendan Conlin, Congreso's Chief Programs Officer, facilitated a discussion about one of the elements of Congreso's Mission 2 Impact (M2I) strategy - incorporating human-centered design into Congreso's programs through "Design Lab!" The Design Lab was created as a means of teaching Congreso's leadership and program teams how to implement human-centered design and performance management practices into their program models in order to equip each team with the tools necessary to continue improving the overall and long-term impact of their programs.

Programs from all three divisions that participated in the initial round of design labs presented program reflections, personal insights, major breakthroughs, and shared their excitement for the future with their colleagues. Stay tuned for more updates as teams begin to test and implement innovative strategies based on their insights from design lab!

Thank you to consultant Ryan Jahn, for facilitating design lab and sharing his human-centered design expertise with the Congreso Familia!
