Congreso Celebrates Pride!

On Friday, June 24th 2022, the Esfuerzo Team hosted Congreso’s first ever LGBTQ+ Pride Event!

Employees, community members, clients, and partners gathered in the courtyard and enjoyed pretzels, water ice, community resources, a live dj, and a fabulous drag performance.

Thank you to everyone that came out and joined the celebration!

Congreso Celebrates Immigrant Heritage Month!

This month we also celebrated immigrants' heritage from across the world. We all come from various places, have diverse backgrounds, and different stories!

To highlight one of many stories at Congreso, we are grateful to share a part of Andreina Perez Hein, Congreso's Chief Development & Stakeholder Relations Officer's story:

In honor of Immigrant Heritage Month, Congreso's Employee Appreciation Committee also held a celebration on Thursday, June 30th in our courtyard.

The event started off with a ceremony recognizing graduates from our ESL program, followed by a brunch with music, resources from iBelong, and insight on our very own Toyin Omodara, FHS Operations Manager's experience!

Thank you to all that joined us in learning about and celebrating diverse traditions, foods, and histories.

Huge Congratulations to our ESL graduates!

Learning a second language is no easy feat, especially for adults. It requires commitment and perseverance. These students are making their way through doors of opportunity.

Tax Site Success!

This year volunteers served 180 families and brought back $385,000 in refunds back to the community. We know these additional dollars are a critical resource for the families that we serve, helping to cover immediate needs and relieve financial pressures.

"It was a great experience and a fulfilling opportunity to help my community. I truly believe that everyone in our organization should experience this opportunity.," shared William Ortiz, Congreso's Lead Housing Counselor/Home Inspector.

Thank you to all the volunteers for your time and support!

School's Out!

Congreso's OST sites concluded the school year with a BANG! Sites had potlucks, parties, and a ton of fun!

Congrats to all 2022 grads! ¡Pa'lante!

Learn more about our EMT program!

Our EMT students pause during their training to smile for the camera!

On this day, the group was learning different lab skills such as:

  • Scene safety and proper use of PPE
  • Lifting and moving patients
  • Patient Assessment
  • Joint immobilization and long bone immobilization (splinting)

Students have to learn to provide quick, quality care when they arrive on the scene of an emergency through observation, history taking, and assessing the patient's condition.
