In recognition and celebration of Black History Month, Congreso hosted two events centered around the 2022 Black History Month theme, Black Health & Wellness.

On Friday, February 18th, a virtual event took place co-hosted by Congreso’s Employee Appreciation Committee and the newly formed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council, around Black History Month and Valentine’s themed trivia. Winners were awarded $50 gift cards to local Black-owned businesses.

On Monday, February 28th, a Black Health & Wellness Fair was held at Congreso’s 2800 N. American St. building and parking lot! Community members enjoyed COVID vaccines and rapid testing, STI screenings, food, music, and a variety of health and wellness resources.

Congreso Teams Paint with Walls for Justice

Recently, Walls for Justice and Congreso Alum Samuel Rodriguez visited the agency to paint a beautiful mural alongside Congreso team members!

Walls for Justice aims to bring about social change using positive messaging, bringing together businesses, community, and artists in the creation of the artwork.

"It was a great experience where we got to bond with our teams and be creative together. We’ll be doing another mural with them at the next division meeting in the spring, that will be installed on the 3rd floor. Walls for Justice does great work!" said Katie Breiner, Family and Housing Services Division Manager.
