Holiday Toy Drive With the support of Congreso team members, Congreso Board Members, ALPFA’s Philadelphia Chapter, and the Philadelphia Pharmacy, gifts were purchased, wrapped, and distributed to 50 families and over 115 children representing each department across the agency! | | | |

Breastfeeding Program Holiday Party Congreso’s Breastfeeding Program hosted a holiday event on Monday, December 20th that featured plenty of gifts for clients and even an appearance by Santa! In addition, in partnership with Chris Guinan, the Guinan Family, and SEPTA, bikes were donated to families via a holiday decorated SEPTA bus! | | | |
Malcom Jenkins Foundation Baskets On Tuesday, December 14th, Congreso received five food baskets from the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation. These baskets included turkeys and treats to prepare a complete holiday feast and will be given to Congreso families in our Prevention Programs. | | | |

We would like to congratulate two members of the Congreso Familia for being named 2022 Philadelphia Social Innovation Award Finalists: Kim Cromer and Hildaliz Escalante! Kim Cromer is Congreso’s Director of Workforce Initiatives and was a finalist in the Innovations in Social Mobility category. This category honors individuals who have made significant contributions to “innovative service models leading to earning a living wage and economic freedom.” Hildaliz is Congreso’s Housing Director and was a finalist in the Human Services Category, Housing and Community Development category. This category honors individuals who have made contributions to “innovative service models and leading to stable/permanent housing.” These awards honor our region’s most passionate Social Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Changemakers whose work and social impact too often goes unacknowledged, yet their efforts are what makes our communities across Greater Philadelphia a thriving region of innovation and opportunity. We are tremendously proud of both these Congreso leaders! Thanks to everyone that participated in the voting period this month. | |
